Elkovitch Hurling and Loyal Homer Helps Victor Cruise Past Gates Chili; 7-0

Junior, Weston Elkovitch, shut down a struggling Gates Chili offense. Elkovitch threw five frames, allowing a single hit, and dicing eight batters.

“Throwing fastballs (worked), didn’t really need much off-speed,” Elkovitch said. His fastballs painted corners and hit the spots they needed to – as only one hit was recorded.

The Blue Devils got the offense going in the third, as UAlbany commit, Cooper Loyal, barreled a two-run shot to left-center. Later in the fourth, Carter Fink singled into center, bringing Tyler Pero in to score. Zeiser would then score Jameson Ricigliano on a sac-fly to left-field. Victor blew the door open in the fifth, Grady Kessler scored on a Schalberg single. Victor scored their seventh and final run with a Fink double to left, scoring both Pero and Schalberg. Fink (3), Loyal (2), Zeiser, and Schalberg all cashed in RBI’s for the Blue Devils. They collected 15 total hits, with just three strikeouts.

Victor has their last game on Thursday, as they look to prepare to make a deep run in Sectionals.
