University of Rochester women’s soccer junior midfielder Natalie Kocsis and men’s soccer senior goalkeeper Santino Lupica-Tondo were named University Athletic Association (UAA) Athletes of the Week in their respective sports, as announced by the conference on Monday.

Kocsis was named the UAA Women’s Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week after scoring an early goal on her lone shot attempt of the game in No. 10 Rochester’s 2-1 win over No. 1 Washington-St. Louis on Sunday afternoon.

The tally, a terrific strike from outside of the box, was the first goal allowed by the top-ranked Bears all season and helped keep Rochester alive in the race for the conference title.

Lupica-Tondo earned UAA Men’s Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week honors after posting his second straight shutout, making five saves in a 1-0 victory at Washington-St. Louis on Sunday afternoon.

The senior keeper was faced with 18 total shot attempts and also made several key plays on set pieces as WashU took eight corner kicks in the game.
