Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints had all cylinders firing on offense on Wednesday, winning big over Gates Spartans 13-3

Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints got things moving in the second inning, when Dom Morsch’s sac fly scored one run for Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints.

Gates Spartans knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the second inning, when an error scored one run for Gates Spartans.

Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third Justin Meister’s sac fly scored one run for Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints, Evan Putney singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Morsch singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints notched six runs in the fourth inning. Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints’s big inning was driven by singles by Putney and Morsch, a walk by Meister, a groundout by Josh Campbell, and a double by Michael Sardou.

Morsch led the Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints to victory on the mound. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out five and walking one. Drew Stewart and Campbell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
