Box Score ROCHESTER, NY – First-year Samuel Burton scored with just :44 seconds remaining in the game to help Nazareth earn a draw with Fredonia, 1-1, on Tuesday at Golden Flyer Stadium. It was the Golden Flyers last non-conference game before opening up Empire 8 play on Friday. Fredonia moves to 4-1-2 overall, while Nazareth drops to 2-2-1.

How it Happened:

  • Seven corner kicks in the first half for the Blue Devils resulted in a goal in the 28th minute. A service dropped to the foot of Ryan Ameis, who tapped in the goal. The Blue Devils ended the game with a 10-6 edge in corner kicks
  • Nazareth had its best opportunity of the first half in the 42nd minute. A throw-in from Sam Romanosky was flicked on to the six before a shot was just pushed wide by Tommy Gillett
  • Desperate to equalize, Nazareth ramped up the pressure and was able to get the tying goal at 89:16. First Year Alexander Kobayashi lofted a pass to the back post that Burton headed it into the near post. It was Burton’s first-career goal
  • Bryan Tirado made seven saves in net for the Golden Flyers
  • Nazareth finished the game with a 14-13 edge in shots
