Jack Edelstein Drives In 4 To Lead Brighton Varsity Bruins Past Vaughn Varsity White Tigers

Jack Edelstein drove in four runs on two hits to lead Brighton Varsity Bruins past Vaughn Varsity White Tigers 17-2 on Tuesday at Orlando . Edelstein hit an inside the park home run in the second inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the fourth inning, scoring two.

Brighton Varsity Bruins got on the board in the first inning after a passed ball scored one run.

Vaughn Varsity White Tigers took the lead in the bottom of the first. Ricky Torres singled, scoring two runs, to give Vaughn Varsity White Tigers the advantage, 2-1.

Brighton Varsity Bruins flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring six runs on six hits to take the lead, 7-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a home run to left field by Grady Hopkin that drove in two.

Brighton Varsity Bruins added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Wes Sturrup singled down the left field line, Vaughn Varsity White Tigers dropped a third strike, and Hopkin was struck by a pitch, each scoring one run.

Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey Varsity Griffins defeated Gananda Central Varsity Blue Panthers 9-5 on Tuesday at Greece Olympia School.

Gananda Central Varsity Blue Panthers were the first to get on the board in the first when Brady Wadsworth grounded out, scoring one run.

A single by Will Schneemann extended the Gananda Central Varsity Blue Panthers lead to 2-0 in the top of the second inning.

Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey Varsity Griffins flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the fourth, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 5-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a ground out by Curtis Welker that drove in two.

Tyler Ashton earned the win for Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey Varsity Griffins. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and two runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking two. Maddox Stoughton took the loss for Gananda Central Varsity Blue Panthers. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on four hits, striking out four and walking three. Connor Welker appeared in relief for Greece Olympia/Greece Odyssey Varsity Griffins.

Bobby Rule Jr. earned the win for Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints. The starter allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out six and walking none. Ty Kosinski took the loss for Portville Varsity Panthers. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out two and walking two. Miner, Nick Vaccaro Jr., and Arena each threw shutout innings for Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints in relief.

Cerretto led Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints with two hits in three at bats. Shepanski and Cerretto each drove in two runs for Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints.
