ALFRED, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women’s Basketball team traveled to Alfred State to take on the Pioneers. The Lakers ran away with the game from the get-go taking the win 67-39 claiming their first win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Oswego started out the game with a bang scoring the first 16 points and not allowing Alfred to score until there was just under five and a half minutes left in the first quarter. The quarter ended with a score of 28-6
- For the second quarter both teams scored 15 points each. This made the score going into halftime 43-12.
- The Laker defense held strong in the third quarter, limiting the Pioneers to 10 points while Oswego gained 16.
- With another even quarter scoring wise, each team gained eight points, which made the final score 67-39.
- Sydney Hoefs led the team with nine points. Elaina Johnson, Shania Iglesias, and Karleigh Leo each contributed eight points.
WHAT’S NEXT
The Lakers will take part in the Morrisville Tournament from November 17-18 where they will first face off against Amherst College.
