Men’s Soccer Remains Undefeated with 3-1 Win

BUFFALO, NY – Three different players scored goals as the Nazareth University Men’s Soccer team recorded a 3-1 win over Hilbert College to remain unbeaten on the season. Juniors Drew Decker and Jake Pawlika along with senior Cooper LaValley scored goals for the Golden Flyers.

Nazareth (4-0-0) opened the scoring with a penalty kick converted by Pawlika in the 12th minute for the early lead and Decker added his second goal of the season with an assist from freshman Tyler Warmington less than eight minutes later to double the lead within the first 20 minutes of action.

Just 15 minutes into the second half, Hilbert (0-3-0) cut the lead in half with a penalty shot goal at the 61:16 mark.

With 15 minutes remaining in the contest, LaValley scored into the lower corner of the goal with a pass from Decker to regain the two-goal lead. 

Nazareth held a commanding 22-5 edge in shots and an 8-0 edge in corner kicks.Nazareth continues play on the road Wednesday at Hobart with a 4 p.m. game in Geneva.
