Greece Athena Varsity Trojans easily dispatched Rangers 10-1 on Tuesday

Greece Athena Varsity Trojans got on the board in the second inning when Nate Hall singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Rangers evened things up at one in the top of the third inning when Frank Grad singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Greece Athena Varsity Trojans pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Caleb Mitchell singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run and Sammy Saucke singled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Greece Athena Varsity Trojans notched four runs in the sixth inning. Greece Athena Varsity Trojans’s big bats in the inning were led by doubles by Mitchell and Saucke, a single by Jaden Madrid, and a groundout by Riley Catena.

Derrick Allen was credited with the victory for Greece Athena Varsity Trojans. The righty surrendered one run on seven hits over six innings, striking out nine. Madrid threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Rangers tallied eight hits in the game. Grad, Freville, and Lorenzo Tantalo each collected multiple hits for Rangers. Grad went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Rangers in hits.
