McQuaid Jesuit Varsity Knights lost the lead late in a 2-1 defeat to Christian Brothers Academy on Sunday. The game was tied at one with Christian Brothers Academy batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored one run for Christian Brothers Academy.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Christian Brothers Academy pitchers struck out nine, while McQuaid Jesuit Varsity Knights sat down six.

McQuaid Jesuit Varsity Knights got on the board in the first inning when Ian Fleck singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the third inning, Christian Brothers Academy tied things up at one when Jack Landau singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Luke Boule got the win for Christian Brothers Academy. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out nine.

Preston Foryt was on the hill for McQuaid Jesuit Varsity Knights. Foryt lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and two runs while striking out six and walking one.

Fleck went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead McQuaid Jesuit Varsity Knights in hits.

Landau led Christian Brothers Academy with three hits in three at bats.
