Women’s Basketball Runs Away From Sage Early In 29-Point Win
ALBANY, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women’s basketball team jumped out to a massive lead early and never looked back as it won its fifth consecutive game on Friday, 81-52 over Russell Sage at the Kahl Campus Center.
The Cardinals improved to 10-4 overall and 5-0 in the Empire 8, while the Gators fell to 3-9 overall and 2-3 in league play. Fisher has won all of its conference games thus far by 19 points or more.
How It Happened
- Senior guard Emily McLaughlin scored seven points as the Cardinals ran away with the game in the first quarter, outscoring Sage 21-3. Fisher held the Gators without a field goal (0 of 21 overall, 0 of 8 from three) and forced four turnovers.
- The Cardinals lead by as many as 34 points in the fourth quarter.
- Fisher outscored Sage 16-2 in second-chance points and 38-26 in the paint. The Cardinals shot nearly 50% as a team, while the Gators finished under 30% overall and just over 20% from 3-point range.

- Katie Moravec led the Cardinals in scoring for the second straight game, as she put up 21 points while shooting 7 of 11 from the field and 7 of 10 from the free-throw line.

Women’s Basketball Wins Sixth In A Row
ONEONTA, N.Y. – The St. John Fisher women’s basketball team remained unbeaten in Empire 8 Conference play on Saturday afternoon with a 62-38 victory over Hartwick at Lambros Arena to complete a 2-0 road swing.
The Cardinals improved to 11-4 overall (6-0 Empire 8), while Hartwick fell to 3-11 overall and 1-5 in league play. Fisher has won each of its last six games by 19 points or more.
How It Happened
- The Cardinals took control in the first quarter, starting the game on an 18-4 run that lasted about eight minutes. Fisher had a 21-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and a 20-point advantage at halftime, 38-18.
- Fisher had its largest lead of the contest – 26 points – in the fourth quarter.
Game Notes
- The Cardinals have outscored their last two opponents by 42 points (42-10) in the first quarter. Fisher led Russell Sage 21-3 at the end of the first 10 minutes of action on Friday night.
- The Cardinals outscored Hartwick 24-8 off turnovers. Fisher forced 21 turnovers.
