Brockport Blanks Alfred at Home for 12th Clean Sheet of the Season
Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women’s soccer team shutout the Alfred University Saxons 1-0 under the lights on home turf. This brings the team to 11-1-1 overall and 7-1 in conference play and their shutout total to 12 on the 2024 season.
Going into the first half, McKenna Slate showed out with an early shot just eight minutes in straight to the back of the net with an assist coming from Caitlin Nelson securing the 1-0 win. The Golden Eagles also had a dominating seven shots placing the pressure on the visiting goalkeeper before the halftime break.
Coming back from the break, the team added another three shots to bring their total to 10 shots total on the game with four on goal. Amelia Breton, Katie Hotaling, Lyndsey Miller, McKenna Slate, Caitlin Nelson, and Jaylah Cossin all contributed shots for the Green and Gold. The team was also awarded a total of 11 corner kicks compared to the Saxon’s with two.
Between the pipes for Brockport was Madeline McCrosson with two saves that helped secure the clean sheet. McCrosson earned her sixth shutout of the season sitting at 6-1 on the season.
This Weekend – Brockport is set to travel to Elmira College on Saturday, October 19th to face the Soaring Eagles for a 1pm start.
