Greece Post defeated Irondequoit Post 10-0 on Saturday thanks in part to seven runs in the fifth inning. Derick Allen singled, scoring one run, Weston Elkovitch singled, scoring two runs, Elkovitch scored after tagging up, Quinton Grimes drew a walk, scoring one run, Brady Gerig drew a walk, scoring one run, and Allen singled, scoring one run.

An error put Greece Post on the board in the bottom of the third.

Allen stepped on the bump first for Greece Post. They allowed two hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out seven and walking five. Figueroa led things off on the bump for Irondequoit Post. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and three runs (two earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking two.

Greece Post amassed 10 hits in the game. Allen drove the middle of the lineup, leading Greece Post with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Gerig, Elkovitch, Jaden Madrid, and Allen each collected two hits for Greece Post. Greece Post had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 10 walks for the game. Steven Kraus, Kaleb Juliano, and Jeffrey Broadnax led the team with two free passes each. Madrid stole two bases. Greece Post stole five bases in the game. Greece Post were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Joe Sanna made the most plays with eight.

GameChanger game 2 recap Pitching Impressive As Greece Post Beat Irondequoit Post

Both teams were strong on the bump on Saturday, but Greece Post defeated Irondequoit Post 2-1. Weston Elkovitch started the game for Greece Post and recorded 21 outs.

Irondequoit Post were the first to get on the board in the first when Cannon singled, scoring one run.

Jeffrey Broadnax walked, which helped Greece Post tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

A single by Quinton Grimes gave Greece Post the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the fourth.

Elkovitch earned the win for Greece Post. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking five. Holden took the loss for Irondequoit Post. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up two runs on four hits, striking out four and walking five.

Grimes went 1-for-2 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with one run batted in. Elkovitch, Steven Kraus, Brody Froman, and Grimes each collected one hit for Greece Post. Greece Post turned one double play in the game.

Cannon led Irondequoit Post with one run batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Irondequoit Post were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Figueroa made the most plays with six.
