Redhawks Repeat As ECC Champions

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University men’s track and field team rolled to its second straight East Coast Conference Outdoor Championship on Thursday.
The host Redhawks captured six of the 21 events to finish with 194 points while earning their third ECC title in four seasons. Saint Thomas Aquinas College finished second with 149 points.
Senior Ryan Karker repeated as champion in both the 800- and 1,500-meter runs as the Redhawks picked up a combined 52 points in those events.
The Redhawks took the top four spots in the 1,500 with Karker (4:06.94), Zachary Hall (4:08.36), Jaxon Bunting (4:08.39) and Theodore Pintabona (4:08.41) accounting for 28 team points.
Karker led the way again in 800 with a time of 1:56.34 followed by Pintabona (1:58.50) and Bunting (1:58.91).
Senior Blake Kasper repeated as champion while leading a 1-2 finish for the Redhawks in the 10,000-meter run, finishing in 30:58.86 after setting a meet record in 2023. Senior Owen White was second in 31:13.01.
Kasper, Daniel Hernandez, Micah Barber and White teamed up to win the 4-by-800 relay in 8:11.67.
Junior Zachary Hall finished first in the 5,000 (15:43.51) while Caleb Belanger took second (15:45.11) and Landon Schreib placed fourth (15:55.87).
Sophomore Corden Zimmerman won his second straight ECC pole vault crown, clearing 4.10 meters (13-feet, 5 ½-inches. Freshman Cyrus Comfort also cleared 4.10 meters and took second place and junior Carter Puylara finished third.

3,000 steeplechase: Russell Mulley, second, 10:10.42; Vincent Ciraolo, third, 10:25.19; Micah Barber, 10:29.17;
Javelin: Corden Zimmerman, third, 40.99 meters (134-4);
400: Patrick Martin, fourth, :52.27;
110 hurdles: Pedro Moscoso, fourth, :17.71;
Hammer throw: Jordan Moran, second, 42.23 meters (138-6); Joshua Paul-Mendoza, fifth, 40 meters (131-3);
Shot put: Demar Osbourne, second, 14.83 meters (48-8);
Discus: Demar Osbourne, fifth, 35.31 (115-10);
4-by-400 relay: Patrick Martin, Jaxon Bunting, Theodore Pintabona, Ryan Karker, second, 3:26.24.
