Redhawks Set New Bests at Paul Donahue Invitational
CHESTER, Pa. – The Roberts Wesleyan track and field distance crew traveled to Pennsylvania over the weekend for the Paul Donahue Invitational at Widener University.
Ryan Karker and Owen White set new marks in the Roberts all-time top performance list. Karker ran in the elite 800-meter race and was one of 11 runners to run under 1:51. The graduate student crossed the finish line in 1:50.96 which is the second-best time in program history. Karker also won the 1,500m open race in 3:52.85.
On Friday night, White competed in the 1,500m elite race and set the No. 2 time in program history. White placed ninth overall in 3:50.41.
In total, five runners on the men’s team broke four minutes in the 1,500m race. Karker and White were joined by Jaxon Bunting (3:57.25), Zachary Hall (3:57.40) and Teddy Pintabona (3:59.68).
In the women’s track events, Kylee Odellplaced sixth in the 1,500m elite race. The senior ran 4:35.36 which is her fastest time this season. Odell also ran 2:17.46 in the 800m open race, placing ninth overall.
Rachel Horner-Richardson hit an 11-second personal best in the 1,500m, crossing the line in 4:45.70 for an eighth-place finish. The sophomore also came back the same day to run 2:23.34 in the 800m for a personal best.
Roberts will be at the Cardinal Classic on Friday, Apr. 26.
