Redhawks Compete at Annual Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic
Lewisburg, Pa. – The Roberts Wesleyan distance runners traveled to Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium over the weekend to compete at the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic.
In the men’s 5,000m invite race, senior Owen White had a top-ten finish and smashed his previous Roberts record. White took eighth place in 14:25.26 which was nearly 10 seconds faster than the time he set in May of last year.
In the same race, Zachary Hall broke into the RWU top-five performance list by crossing the line in 14:47.43 which is the fourth best time in program history. Hall ran to almost a 20-second personal best.
Rachel Horner-Richardson took fifth place in the 5,000-meter race with an outdoor best time of 17:55.17. The sophomore ran four seconds faster than her previous best time last outdoor season.
In the men’s 1,500m unseeded race, Jaxon Bunting hit a new personal best of 3:59.77 to take 10th place. Graduate student Ryan Karker ran in the 1,500m invite race and put up his second-best outdoor time of 3:53.96.
Roberts will compete next at the Widener University Invitational beginning on Friday, April 19.
