ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan University pole vaulter Brynn King has been named the M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for the second consecutive week.
King, a fifth-year student from The Woodlands, Texas, was honored as the Division II Women’s Athlete of the Week after turning in a record-breaking performance while winning the women’s elite competition at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays in Austin, Texas.
King cleared 4.68 meters (15-feet, 4¼ inches) to break her own NCAA Division II record by more than three inches while setting meet and personal records. The effort was the fifth-best all-time in NCAA women’s pole vault.
King, the NCAA Division II women’s indoor pole vault champion, now owns both the DII indoor (4.65 meters) and outdoor (4.68 meters) records.
King, the USTFCCCA Women’s National Division II Indoor Field Athlete of the Year, received the same honor on March 26 after clearing a then-record 4.60 meters (15-1) at the Redhawk Invitational on March 14.
King was named DII National Athlete of the Week by the USTFCCCA five times during the 2023-24 indoor season.
