Women’s Basketball defeats Brockport, 67-53, earning first win of the season
BROCKPORT, N.Y. – RIT first-year forward Faye Kaplinski scores a career-high 18 points, leading the women’s basketball team to a 67-53 win over Brockport, Tuesday.

- Junior forward Sonya Shivok opens the Tigers’ scoring with foul line jumper, ties game at 2-2
- Brockport takes a 13-10 lead after one quarter of play
- Kaitlyn Bockelman opens the second quarter with a jump shot, cutting Brockport’s lead to one
- Senior guard Emma Waite makes a layup tying the game at 16
- At 6:44 in the second quarter, Bockelman makes a jumper inside the paint, giving the Tigers’ their first lead of the night
- The Tigers’ took a 36-23 lead going into halftime after ending the quarter on an 18-5 run
- Bockelman makes one-of-two free throws midway through the third quarter, putting the Tigers up by 20 points, their largest lead of the night
- RIT takes a 52-39 lead going into the fourth quarter
- Brockport opens up the fourth quarter with a layup, cutting RIT’s lead to 11
- The Tigers outscored Brockport 15-12 in the fourth quarter, securing their first win of the season
