Roberts women’s soccer beats queens recap from steve Bradley and Ted Johnson below

FLUSHING, N.Y. – Sophomore Larissa Johnstonscored the game’s only goal in the 38th minute as the Roberts Wesleyan University women’s soccer team defeated Queens College 1-0 on Saturday evening to remain unbeaten in East Coast Conference play.
Johnston corralled a loose ball near the top of the penalty area and delivered a 15-yard shot for her fourth goal of the season for the Redhawks (9-1-2, 5-0-1 ECC), who are 8-0-1 in their last nine matches.
Roberts recorded its fourth consecutive shutout and eighth in nine matches. The Redhawks are 4-0 in one-goal matches this season and currently lead the ECC with 16 points.
“Every conference game is a battle and tonight was no different,” Redhawks coach Sarah McClellan said. “We are pleased with the result and with the shutout. We also know that we have some improvement in us to reach our goals.”
Roberts outshot Queens 16-3 as senior Nicolette Knauf recorded her seventh shutout of the season.
The Redhawks host Daemen in an ECC match at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
