Monday’s game against Webster 17u was a heartbreaker for Bruins Baseball Club 17U, as they lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the sixth when Presutti hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

Bruins Baseball Club 17U lost despite out-hitting Webster 17u eight to three. Garrett Zielinski led Bruins Baseball Club 17U with two hits.

Bruins Baseball Club 17U were the first to get on the board in the fourth when Zielinski singled, scoring two runs.

Webster 17u captured the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the sixth after Roggia tripled, Butler walked, and Presutti hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

Grady Hopkin led things off on the hill for Bruins Baseball Club 17U. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking one. Leroy stepped on the hill first for Webster 17u. They surrendered eight hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking two.

Zielinski led Bruins Baseball Club 17U with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. They went 2-for-3 on the day. Bruins Baseball Club 17U were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Noah Wagner had the most chances in the field with six.

Roggia, Butler, and DiCicco each collected one hit for Webster 17u. Presutti and Roggia each drove in one run for Webster 17u. Roggia stole two bases. Webster 17u turned one double play in the game.
