Clayton Campidilli Drives In 5 To Lead Dallas Center Grimes Mustangs Past Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity)

Clayton Campidilli drove in five runs on three hits to lead Dallas Center Grimes Mustangs past Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity) 13-2 on Tuesday. Campidilli hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth scoring two, doubled in the seventh scoring two, doubled in the first scoring one, and doubled in the third scoring one.

Logan Young, Trevor Hamil, and Dalton Bergthold at the bottom of Dallas Center Grimes Mustangs’s lineup combined for six of the team’s 12 hits in their victory. They scored three runs and drove in two.

Dallas Center Grimes Mustangs were the first to get on the board in the first when Campidilli doubled, scoring one run.

Logan Hoskinson opened the game for Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity). They surrendered three hits and two runs (one earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Tate Perrin, Hamil, and Dayne Mauk each came on in relief for Dallas Center Grimes Mustangs and shutdown Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity).

Dallas Center Grimes Mustangs tallied 12 hits in the game. Young, Hamil, and Bergthold each collected multiple hits for Dallas Center Grimes Mustangs. Dallas Center Grimes Mustangs had a strong eye at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game. Mikkelsen, Perrin, Rupp, and Mauk led the team with two free passes each.

Austen Coenen, Wyatt Grubb, and Kam Criss each collected one hit for Oskaloosa Indians (Varsity). Criss went 1-for-2 at the plate as the cleanup hitter led the team with one run batted in.
