Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints put up four runs in the first on its way to a 7-1 victory over Penfield Varsity Patriots on Friday. Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints’s big inning was driven by a single by Anthony Shortino, a sacrifice fly by Parker Farnham, and an error on a ball put in play by Jaylen Lopez.

Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints got things moving in the first inning, when Shortino singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Michael Sardou was the winning pitcher for Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints. The righthander went five innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out two and walking one. Dom Morsch threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jace Crawford took the loss for Penfield Varsity Patriots. The pitcher surrendered five runs on six hits over three innings, striking out one and walking zero.

Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints totaled 11 hits in the game. Josh Campbell, Justin Meister, and Shortino each racked up multiple hits for Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints. Campbell went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Churchville-Chili Varsity Saints in hits.
