Mendon with 1st win of the year

Pittsford Mendon Vikings snatched the lead late in the game in an 8-4 victory over Westlake Varsity Wildcats on Wednesday. The game was tied at four with Pittsford Mendon Vikings batting in the bottom of the sixth when Aiden Lerner-Morelle singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Pittsford Mendon Vikings earned the victory despite allowing Westlake Varsity Wildcats to score three runs in the third inning. Westlake Varsity Wildcats offense in the inning was led by Joey Casella and Jake Nargi, all driving in runs in the frame.

Pittsford Mendon Vikings opened up scoring in the second inning when Jack Wadsworth grounded out, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, Pittsford Mendon Vikings tied things up at four. Pittsford Mendon Vikings scored one run when Wadsworth singled.

Andrew Miller led things off on the hill for Pittsford Mendon Vikings. The righthander went three innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out four.

Nicholas Castellano started the game for Westlake Varsity Wildcats. The lefthander went five and a third innings, allowing eight runs on three hits and striking out three.

Wadsworth, Ari Goldstein, and Lerner-Morelle all had one hit to lead Pittsford Mendon Vikings.

Nicholas McClure led Westlake Varsity Wildcats with two hits in three at bats.
