GENESEO, N.Y. – The Empire 8 announced their weekly honors on Monday afternoon, and Colin Gentile and Zephyr Connolly highlighted the awards for SUNY Geneseo by being named Rookie of the Week for men’s and women’s basketball, respectively.
Gentile dropped a game-high 25 points and added eight rebounds for the Knights in a 90-82 overtime loss against RIT on Friday. Gentile shot 50 percent from the field (11-for-22) in the game and drained three 3-pointers. He also added an assist and a steal.
Connolly tallied four points, three rebounds and a pair of assists in a 74-54 win over SUNY Morrisville on Friday. For the full press release from the Empire 8, click here.
