ROCHESTER, N.Y. – With several of its more experienced runners resting in preparation for next week’s Live In Lou Invitational, the Roberts Wesleyan University men’s cross country team gave its younger runners an opportunity to race at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational on Homecoming Weekend.
“I honestly think that it was good for the freshman guys to be in there without the upperclassmen,” said Andrew Dorr, Roberts’ Director of Cross Country and Track and Field. “They had a chance to be in our top five and for an 8K, we had some really nice debuts.”
Freshman Caleb Belanger was the top finisher for Roberts , placing 69th in 28:11.8. Classmate Micah Barber was next across the line on the Matt St. James Trails for the Redhawks, placing 94th in 28:54.6.
Freshman Vincent Ciraolo finished 109th in 29:36.6, senior Isaac Perkins was 115th in 29:52.9. Freshmen Daniel Hernandez (30:39.9) and Russell Mulley(31:43.5) rounded out the top six for the Redhawks.
Roberts finished 11th in the team competition that was won by Geneseo.
