Wolfpack Baseball 16U defeated Smash It Sports 16U 12-4 on Friday thanks in part to eight runs in the fifth inning.
Smash It Sports 16U opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to two singles. Smash It Sports 16U first got on the board when Kyle Markham singled, scoring one run.
Wolfpack Baseball 16U tied the game in the top of the second thanks to a walk by Max Gladke, and a wild pitch.
A single by Colin Corcoran gave Wolfpack Baseball 16U the lead, 4-2, in the top of the third.

Ryan Szychowski drew a walk, scoring one run, Cameron Corcoran singled, scoring one run, Chris Gill singled, scoring one run, Luke Blatchley was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, Gladke singled, scoring one run, Cole Blatchley singled, scoring one run, and Tyler Cavar singled, scoring two runs.
Corcoran earned the win for Wolfpack Baseball 16U. The righty allowed eight hits and four runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Mason Davey took the loss for Smash It Sports 16U. The right-handed pitcher went two innings, allowing four runs on three hits, striking out five and walking six.
Smash It Sports 16U’s Jacob Sova made the most of their chances at the plate. The number seven hitter led the team with two hits in two at bats.
Wolfpack Baseball 16U accumulated 11 hits in the game. Cavar and Nolan Nobile were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Wolfpack Baseball 16U. Gladke and Cavar each drove in two runs for Wolfpack Baseball 16U. Wolfpack Baseball 16U had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 10 walks for the game.
